“Kurt was an artist [laughs] - he was always expressing himself. He would do these Scooby-Doo cartoons, he lived in this apartment for a while and he defaced the hallway with this pornographic Scooby-Doo. It was like penises and Scooby and Shaggy [laughs] - it was like really, really bad. It was well done, like it was Shaggy from Scooby-Doo! He was an amazing illustrator, very talented.” - Krist Novoselic.

did Kurt Cobain like Iron Maiden

Yes, he drew this picture in his journals of the mascot.

Here is a quote from Cobain in a 1991 interview:

“I’ve always loved music more than anything else. We can say that I started to touch a guitar at 15, without really playing … I wanted to punk rock without the slightest idea what it looked like. I pretended to write a song on my punk-rock electric guitar without knowing how to play, simply by putting it thoroughly and screaming. I was hoping it was punk rock. I listened to heavy metal, Iron Maiden and Motorhead.”

Kurt’s eighth birthday he received this easel from his paternal grandparents. He can be seen here copying the cover from “Giant-Size Werewolf #4”, an April 1975 Marvel comic.
