Chuck: “With Pat Smear playing guitar in the touring lineup, has your approach to the instrument changed much?”
Kurt: “Pat has worked out great from day one. In addition to being one of my closest friends, Pat has found a niche in our music that compliments what was already there without forcing any major changes. I don’t see myself ever becoming Mick Jagger, but having Pat on stage has freed me to spend more time connecting with the audience. I’ve become more of a showman. Well maybe that’s going too far. Let’s just say that having Pat to hold down the rhythm allows me to concentrate on the performance as a whole. I think it’s improved our live show 100%.”
