“We brought our bags into the Best Western 501 North 22nd Street Philadelphia, PA and cymbal bags and two fender jazzmasters in hardcases and set them beside the couch in the bar/lounge which we sat on to watch the hurricane Sandy benefit event. At some point the TV went out and we went to the bar to deal with it and while there someone snatched one of the gtrs - the black one w/ all the stickers. Their was only like 6 people around besides us, it was after midnight.”
Kurt puts his design to use and creates the custom Fender Jaguar/Mustang guitar, titled as the ‘Jag-stang’.
Interviewer: How many models are there? And can I buy one?
Kurt: I don’t know. I don’t know if it’s gone into production yet. I don’t know if it will be available for the public. It’s up to them to decide. But what I basically, well, what I did is I took a picture of a Mustang, a Polaroid picture of a Mustang and a picture of a Jaguar and then cut them in half and glued them together and told them to build that. So that’s what it is. It’s the Jag-Stang.

Fender Kurt Cobain Jaguar Unboxing: Images here.
Fender® introduces one of its most distinctive signature models ever, the Kurt Cobain Jaguar®-meticulously modeled on the battered and highly unusual 1965 Jaguar that Cobain wielded during the heady early-’90s era when Nirvana ruled rock and led a musically stunning and culturally subversive movement.
Enter now to win a very special guitar—the Kurt Cobain Jaguar.
The Kurt Cobain Jaguar is a meticulously detailed replica of the unusual 1965 model so often played by Nirvana’s enigmatic singer/songwriter/guitarist during the heady heights of the band’s meteoric early-’90s reign. With its shorter scale, humbucking pickups, non-standard controls and worn finish, it evokes one of modern rock’s most fascinating figures.
The grand-prize winner will also receive a limited run Nevermind 20th anniversary vinyl edition. Only 1,991 copies will be released worldwide, and we’ve secured one for our giveaway!
